I’m a committed Christian, an experienced music teacher, and a former homeschool dad. My music training and experience includes 32 years as a high school choir director, over 45 years’ involvement in church music leadership, and over 50 years’ experience as a performer. I’ve taught children from age 5 through high school, in private lesson, small group, and large group settings. All of this has been done with a firm commitment to honor God in my teaching, understanding that as a Christian man, I have a big responsibility to model godly behavior and attitudes. And as a former homeschool dad, I’m a big believer in the value of homeschooling, especially since a child’s first and most important teachers are his or her parents. Anything I do as a teacher will be designed to support the values and priorities of your family.

When we were living in El Paso, with boys aged 7 and 10 at the time, I began a general music class for homeschoolers. It turned into a homeschool choir that grew to about 85 members. Then we moved to Katy. My new job did not allow for a homeschool group at the time. Our sons are grown men now, but I am still very interested in providing instruction to homeschool kids in a subject area that most parents value, but which most parents are not prepared to teach.

I hope you will look at the options below and consider enrolling your child(ren) in what will be a great opportunity for them to learn about God’s gift of music. Please feel free to pass this along to other homeschool families who might be interested.
